About Dr. Schweitzer
Dr. Marvin P. Schweitzer’s premedical education includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences and post-graduate research at McGill University, Montreal, in the fields of cancer immunology and endocrine pathophysiology. He received his doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine (ND), upon completion of a four-year program, from the National College of Naturopathic Medicine (NCNM) in Portland, Oregon.
He was a resident postgraduate Fellow at NCNM in the fields of Family Medicine and Sports Medicine, an instructor in endocrinology, and a supervisor of student doctors at Portland Naturopathic Clinic. This was followed by training in natural therapies in Europe, including oxygen multi-step therapy with immunostimulation with Eastern Germany’s most celebrated scientist, Professor Manfred von Ardenne.
Dr. Schweitzer brings an eclectic blend of advanced diagnostic materials, homeopathy, acupuncture, other energy medicines, nutritional and botanical medicines and European Biological Medicines to the table for his patients who, over the years, have become increasingly diversified.
A caring individual, he is at a good point in his career – young enough to be up on what is good and new – yet, at the same time, with lots of clinical and life experience. He also speaks fluent French and German, and is married with two children.
Licensed by the State Naturopathic Boards of Connecticut and Oregon, Dr. Schweitzer has been a general practitioner in Fairfield County since 1986. A member of both the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians and the Connecticut Society of Naturopathic Physicians, he is the Clinical Director of the Wellness Institute in Norwalk.
